Ingredients
Serves 4 people
For the chicken
500 g chicken thighs (or chicken breast), cut into pieces
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
For the crust
75 g flour
25 g cornstarch
100 g Japanese panko breadcrumbs
2 eggs
1 tsp salt
For frying
Sunflower oil or peanut oil
For finishing
Little b's Hot Honey
Preperation
1. Marinating the chicken
In a bowl, mix the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken, stir well, and let marinate for at least 30 minutes (preferably 2 hours) in the fridge.
2. Preparing the breading
In a bowl, mix the flour with the cornstarch. Crack the eggs and beat them well in a separate bowl. Place the Japanese panko breadcrumbs in another bowl.
Remove the chicken from the marinade and let it drain briefly. Dip each piece first in the beaten eggs, then in the flour mixture, and finally coat it with the panko. Press firmly for a thick, airy, and crispy layer.
3. Frying the chicken
Heat a pan with 3-4 cm of oil to 175°C. Fry the chicken in batches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Drain on a rack or paper towels.
4. Finishing touches
Generously drizzle the fried chicken with Little b's Hot Honey and serve immediately.
Serving
Serve with extra hot honey drizzle, a fresh salad, rice, or roasted vegetables.
